Parents | Frequently Asked Questions

What ages are good for Kiddofy?

Kiddofy is designed for the youngest child through the tween ages and middle school. Some families have also found it valuable for their early high schoolers.

How do I get Kiddofy?

Kiddofy is available in Apple's App Store for both Mac and mobile devices (e.g., iPhone, iPad, and iPad Touch).

Which devices are supported?

Apple Mac (MacOS 10.15+) and mobile devices (iOS 12+ / iPadOS), including iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches are supported. Additional platforms will be supported in the future.

Is there a charge for families to use Kiddofy?

No. Kiddofy is free of charge for families and no credit card is collected. Our primary goal is to help families and their kiddos enjoy the best of the Web while keeping them safe from the rest.

How is Kiddofy different from parental control solutions?

Where parental control solutions offer a variety of app and screen limits, social media controls, and some Web filters, we focus entirely on connecting children with great Web content in a safe environment. We do this by curating exceptional age-rated content for children and using our patented technology to enable safe sharing between trusted family and friends, giving kiddos protected access to an endless stream of high-quality, age-appropriate, personally relevant content and experiences.

Does Kiddofy work with Apple's Screen Time restrictions?

Yes! If your family prefers strict controls, we recommend that you use Screen Time's content and app restrictions on your kiddos' devices to help prevent access to unwanted content outside of Kiddofy. Our Help content provides guidance to assist you.

Do I have to restrict my child's Web access for them to use Kiddofy?

No. Designed to work with a family's existing parental controls and for families without, Kiddofy gives parents flexibility. For full access control, use Kiddofy as your child's sole Web browser. For less control, use it alongside other browsers. Either way, kiddos benefit from great content and the ability to safely share with trusted friends.

Can my child use Kiddofy on my device or must they have their own?

Kiddos can use Kiddofy on your devices or theirs, at home or away. All settings are stored in the cloud, so your child's content and preferences are available everywhere, across all devices - including those shared with siblings or other kiddos.

What happens when my child is using Kiddofy and clicks on a link to content that hasn't been approved?

Kiddofy will block access to the content and ask your child if they'd like to request permission from you. You then receive the request on your device and Kiddofy makes it easy to review the content and accept or reject the request.

If my child's friends are allowed to share content with them, how does Kiddofy ensure it's appropriate?

With Kiddofy's patented technology, kiddos can share only what's been approved for them in Kiddofy. When you trust a child, you're trusting their parents to allow only appropriate content. Even if those parents have allowed their kiddo content with an age rating beyond your child's age, Kiddofy will route that content to you first, for approval.

How do I share content with my children in Kiddofy?

Adults can share content with their kiddos and Kiddofy Friends using the Kiddofy app or their favorite browser, just like you share a Web page from Safari or Chrome with Messenger.
