Kiddofy is a small start-up founded in the Pacific Northwest by a mom and dad who wanted something better for their young children.
Frustrated by the difficulty in finding and safely sharing great online content and experiences with their kiddos, they set out to build the thing they wanted for their family.
We believe there are great things online that benefit children. We also believe they can be hard to find and surrounded by a full range of inappropriate-to-terrible things that should be avoided. Because of this, children miss-out on the full opportunity to enjoy, learn, and grow from these wonderful resources.
Our hope is that children everywhere are able to safely enjoy, learn from, explore, and become inspired through the amazing resources available to them online; that they share their excitement with others and develop healthy online social skills and stewardship.
Our purpose is to connect kiddos with great experiences and provide an environment in which they can be enjoyed safely. Results in achieving this is how we measure Kiddofy's success.
"Before Kiddofy, when we found something our kiddos would enjoy, we texted them a link to the website. Because we setup their device to allow access only to certain websites, they usually couldn't access what we shared until we got home and updated the parental controls. By then, if we remembered and had time before bed, the moment had passed."
"When we shared something, we wanted our kiddos to have safe access in the moment - not later."
"We realized that there is much more great stuff online for kids than we would find ourselves. As busy parents, we honestly didn't spend a lot of time searching. While there are lists online of good websites for kids, we still had the challenge of maintaining our parental controls to allow access and then finding the things our kiddos would like. It was clear that we were missing a lot."
"We wanted help finding the good stuff for our kiddos, without the hassles of maintaining parental controls settings."
"With no chance of keeping up on our own, we thought it would be even better for our kiddos if we could allow others to share with them as well. Trusted family, friends, teachers, organizations, etc., could send them things they would access safely, with no need for us to configure controls. We could share with other families the same way."
"If trusted sharing and immediate safe access by kiddos became easy, children could experience and grow so much more!"
"When we started talking with families in our circle, we learned they fall across the whole range of technical ability, interests, and approach to online safety - some lock down, some supervise, and some are just beginning to think about it."
"For Kiddofy to be helpful, it should be simple to use and help families with and without parental controls."
